eyecues

So can the direction a person’s eyes reveal whether or not they are making a truthful statement? Short answer: sort of. But, it isn’t as simple as some recent television shows or movies make it seem. In these shows a detective will deduce a person is being untruthful simply because they looked to the left or right while making a statement. Read the rest of this entry »

Look at me first before we decide your health coverage

Eyes window

Are the eyes “windows to the soul,” as the ancient proverb has it? Maybe. But they’re also portals through which one can glimpse signs of health problems — not only eye disorders like cataracts and glaucoma but also systemic illnesses like diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. I hate Maui Jim sunglasses, but it’s not personal :)

November 5, 2009

MJ bites

I hate Maui Jim’s. Let me tell you why.

First- If ever have the displeasure of ordering them, you will find that most of the MJ frames, do not have the frame name on them, only a number. An example would be 125-01. Now the invoice has the frame name, say Stingray. If a patient says to you, does this frame come in a different color? You look at the frame, which only has a number and have to then thumb through their catalog (which is mainly pages of just colorful pictures) and try to find the frame name that matches the sku on the frame. JUST recently have some of their frames actually have the name on them. It’s about time they start this. (BTW the pages smell bad) Read the rest of this entry »

November 4, 2009

hallucinate

It seems that we inadvertently offend one of our readers. It seems we used an image by someone who….I have no idea who, so here is the comment we got. “This poster is one of the First Vision when Joseph Smith, Jr. saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. He was 14 years old and not on drugs. The LDS Church has 14 million members and is the fourth largest in the US. This is very offensive.”  I’m sorry we only offend a few of you, our bad. We will work much harder to offend more of you. :) Enjoy the updated Joseph Smith image and a few others below. Read the rest of this entry »
